Ameku Road Walkway is now open to discover the best views in Raetihi from the top of Ameku Road. The Walkway is for walkers only and can be reached from the Raetihi township or you can park at the bottom of the track beside the public toilets. The climb is approximately 180m in elevation and just over 1km each way from the carpark.
The walkway access is via a sawmill, and we ask that please be respectful of the property and do not bring dogs. This is the home of kiwi and can be heard at night. Engage the views of Taranaki to the west, Paraparas, Waiouru and Rangataua to the south and Ruapehu Tongariro and Ngāuruhoe to the North.
