Explore the heart of New Zealand’s North Island at its most raw and exposed, from both above the ground and on foot. The iconic Sky Waka gondola gives views of Mt Ruapehu's remarkable volcanic terrain from above, carrying guests on a 1.8km journey to 2020m above sea level and with views extended out across the maunga (mountain) and Central Plateau. On arrival at 2020m, guests are welcomed to the Pinnacles’ Café, offering café style food and beverages and Our take on the traditional high tea - ‘Tea at 2020m’, possibly the highest tea in the world. Explore on foot via one of six well marked and self guided walks, ranging from 20 minutes to 2.5 hours return. Discounts from New Zealand residents and Gold Card holders.
