Mt Ruapehu Summer Season

Explore the heart of New Zealand’s North Island at its most raw and exposed, from both above the ground and on foot. The iconic Sky Waka gondola gives views of Mt Ruapehu's remarkable volcanic terrain from above, carrying guests on a 1.8km journey to 2020m above sea level. On arrival at 2020m, guests are welcomed to the Pinnacles’ Café, offering café style food and beverages, with views extended out across the maunga (mountain) and Central Plateau. New in summer of 2023/24 is our take on a traditional high tea - ‘Tea at 2020m’ - an evolving menu of sandwiches, savouries, and cakes.
