Off The Beaten Track - River View Chalet

For those wishing to venture further afield, National Park is a 30min drive away, allowing easy access to the sights and activities of the Tongariro National Park. The Fishers Track cycleway passes the gate, as does the Te Araroa Trail. The Retaruke River provides trout fishing, with both brown and rainbow in good numbers. The Chalet is a cosy A frame with a sleep out, that can accommodate up to 9 people. Views from the deck encompass the surrounding native bush, sheep pastures and the beautiful Retaruke River. Fall to sleep at night to the sound of the river, and the ruru calling in the surrounding totara trees. This is truly getting away from it all, visitors always comment on the tranquilty and peaceful ambience.
